What are the requirements for the Private Lease plan?
Private leasing is a simple and affordable option for individuals who want to drive a new vehicle while staying within their budget.
To enter into a private lease agreement in Luxembourg, you must:
- to be an individual
- hold a valid driver's license
- be no older than 75 at the time the contract is signed
- be a legal resident of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Once these conditions are met, your application can be reviewed to determine your eligibility for funding.
What is private leasing?
Private leasing is a mobility solution designed for individuals residing in Luxembourg. It allows you to drive a new vehicle for a predetermined period and mileage in exchange for a fixed monthly payment.
The rent includes:
- vehicle depreciation,
- Road tax,
- civil liability insurance,
- Legal protection insurance (also known as legal defense)
- driver insurance
- maintenance and mechanical repair costs
Optional:
- rental damage coverage for loss of or damage to the vehicle (CASCO)
- roadside assistance
- the "first immediate" replacement vehicle
- Summer and winter tires (provided based on wear)
The main advantage of private leasing is that it helps you keep your automotive budget under control: you know the monthly cost of your vehicle in advance, without having to worry about reselling it at the end of the lease.
The rental fee does not include fuel consumption and fines for traffic violations.
Difference between financial leasing and private leasing
Private leasing and financial leasing serve different purposes.
Included Services
- Private leasing is an all-inclusive mobility solution. Depending on the options selected, the monthly payment may include insurance, taxes, maintenance, repairs, roadside assistance, tires, and a replacement vehicle.
- Financial leasing is, above all, a financing solution. Services related to the use of the vehicle are generally not included and remain the responsibility of the driver.
The Funding Method
- With private leasing, you pay for the use of the vehicle for a set period. The monthly payment is fixed and includes the services specified in the contract.
At the end of the contract, you return the vehicle and can choose a new model if you wish. - With a finance lease, the lease payments cover the full value of the vehicle in accordance with the terms set forth in the contract. An initial down payment or an option to purchase the vehicle may be included, depending on the chosen plan.
